EXPERIENCE
Chief Officer experience with responsibility for the management of a multi-functional department of 1,200 personnel, involved with the corporate working of Plymouth City, the formulation of policy and strategic plans and specific advice to members and committees on Highway, Transportation, Environmental and Technical matters.

Managed the £4.5m Plymouth Highway Agency for Devon County Council, maintaining 760km of roads, 1520 km of footpaths, 260 bridges or structures and 25,000 street lights and Managing Engineer for the £0.5m contract with South West Water plc for all sewerage and drainage functions within the city.

Experience of design, contract preparation, construction and supervision for City Council Highways, Drainage, Buildings, Structures, improvement and Refurbishment schemes and Property Audit on all city public buildings.

Joint engineer for the Tamar suspension bridge, three Torpoint Ferries and two Park & Ride Schemes. Project Manager for major construction projects in the city, including the £1m Airport development and the £30m Pavilion Leisure and Conference Centre.

Designed and installed the successful City Centre and Car Park CCTV security cameras which have reduced crime in the City Centre.

Experience of formulating strategic and policy plans for refuse collection, street cleansing, recycling and waste management. Produced the Plymouth City Recycling Plan and managed 40 mini recycling centres.
